Love your heart this valentines day

Kickboxing can have many cardiovascular benefits and can help with overall heart health

Look after your heart

Kickboxing has many health benefits including improving cardiovascular health. Due to its high intensity nature a kickboxing class will have your heart working hard to keep up. Over the long term, with consistent training, your heart can take on adaptations such as, increased heart size and lower heart rate. Both of which can help with longevity.

What is kickboxing

Punches, kicks, knees… kickboxing is a high paced martial art that has many potential health benefits plus the joy of learning a new and fun skill. Our style of kickboxing is called ‘Sanda 散打’ (literally means free fighting in Chinese). Sanda is unique because it incorporates throws, takedowns and wrestling techniques. Kind of like Judo and Kickboxing.

Other Benefits of Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a full body workout. You will hit all the muscles in your body not just your heart , you will also challenge your mental capacity as your cerebellum tries to figure out the complex movements of kickboxing. You can also burn 200-400 calories per session and while you are working hard you will also be improving your coordination, mobility, endurance and can also help manage stress as well.

You could also discover your new passion and enrich your life. Win-win really!

Words of caution
