CLASS ETIQUETTE for adults
Arriving late for class
Please make sure you arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class begins, so you can prepare for your session.
Students who are late will not be allowed to join in and will not receive a refund for the lesson.
Keep quiet during instruction
And listen without interruption.
Drinking water
Please bring water to class. Your instructor will give you regular water breaks. Please wait for those.
Leaving the training hall
During class do not leave the training hall without permission from an instructor. Why? It is the responsibility of Sanda Kickboxing Academy Instructors to ensure your safety whilst you are training.
Sanda Kickboxing Academy equipment
Help tidy up equipment at the end of class. This includes the tatami mats and all Sanda Kickboxing Academy equipment used.
Sparring Rules: Sanda and Self-Defence classes
- Tell your instructor if you have had a concussion within the last 6 months and tell your instructor if you have an injury.
- Your instructors will decide when you are ready to spar
- Stop means Stop. Listen to your instructors at all times.
- Students must have mouth guards, gloves, shin guards to participate in sparring.

Membership
Members agree to advise Sanda Kickboxing Academy immediately of any change to the members details provided.
Members agree to not use their skills gained in Sanda Kickboxing Academy classes to cause people harm, injury or death. Members agree only use their skills in accordance to the law in the country in which they are in.
Membership includes insurance under the BCCMA (British Council for Chinese Martial Arts). Please click the following link for more details https://bccma.com/membership-policies/ .
By becoming a member of Sanda Kickboxing Academy and the BCCMA, members are able to compete in BCCMA competitions.
Members understand that it is their responsibility to provide the proper equipment for all Sanda Kickboxing Academy activities and it is their responsibility to maintain their equipment in safe operating condition.
Termination of membership
We, Sanda Kickboxing Academy reserves the right to dismiss any student due to misconduct, failure to obey rules or policies, disruptive behaviour, or any other violation of Sanda Kickboxing Academy policy.
If a member wishes to terminate their membership with Sanda Kickboxing Academy, we request one month’s notice of leaving the club.
Fees
Sanda Kickboxing Academy offers you two ways to be a member, to suit your situation best.
Either:
Unlimited Monthly Package Membership:
If you choose to join Sanda Kickboxing Academy as an Unlimited Monthly Package member, you will benefit from cheaper classes, and a single payment once per month in the form of a Standing Order. The Unlimited Monthly membership is £85 per month for adults and £70 per month for students.
If you wish to train consistently, improve your fitness, and get the most out of your training then Unlimited Monthly Package Membership is for you.
1 Class a Week Monthly Package Membership:
If you choose to join Sanda Kickboxing Academy as a 1 class a week Monthly Package member you will make a single payment once per month in the form of a Standing Order. The 1 class a week Monthly membership is £65 per month for adults and £50 per month for students.
Insurance
There will be an annual fee of £20. This will be charged on the month that you began training and covers your insurance under the BCCMA (British Council for Chinese Martial Arts)

Monthly Package Membership:
By joining as a Monthly Package Member, you are agreeing to set up a monthly Standing Order of £85 for adults and £70 for students for the unlimited classes or £65 per month for adults and £50 per month for students for the 1 class a week Monthly membership, payable on the 1st of each month thereafter. The Standing order can be cancelled at any time.
We have calculated our monthly rate based on the understanding that this is to be paid 12 months of the year. This allows us to plan-ahead and organise the club in a way which provides the best coaching for our students.
1) Monthly training packages and Insurance fees are non-refundable.
2) Members will not be able to train if their monthly class package fees or annual Insurance have not been paid.
3) The teachers will offer sessions for a minimum of 49 to 50 weeks per year.
4) If you are unable to train due to long-term illness or serious injury, monthly payment can be amended on a case-by-case approach. Please talk with your instructors.

Language
Children are expected to use appropriate language and treat their fellow students with respect in class. If a student continues to use foul language after multiple warnings, they will no longer be able to attend classes. Foul language includes but in not limited to; swearing, violent language, verbal abuse etc.

Sparring Rules: Kung Fu and Chinese Kickboxing
- Please tell your instructor if your child has had a concussion within the last 6 months and tell your instructor if your child has an injury.
- Your instructors will decide when your child is ready to spar
- Children under the age of 16 do not take any shots to the head, only body and leg shots. Impact is semi contact, not full contact.
- Students must have mouth guards, gloves, shin guards to participate in Chinese Kickboxing.

Children’s Fees
Sanda Kickboxing Academy children’s classes are paid for at the beginning of each half term via bank transfer. Classes are charged at £8 per 45 minutes. Each half term is usually 6 weeks long.
Please note that all class fees are subject to change at any time on a term-by-term basis. Up to date class fees will be published on our website.
Children’s Membership terms:
When your child(ren) joins Sanda Kickboxing Academy you are agreeing to pay their annual membership of £40 per child and to pay for classes at the beginning of each half term.
1) All class fees and annual membership fees remain payable in cases of absence from class. There are no reductions or refunds for missed classes under any circumstances. This includes injury, sickness, or holidays.
2) Any late payments will incur a late payment fee of 10%
3) A refund will not be provided if classes must be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances such as, but not limited to; fire, flood, storm, bad weather, including weather disrupting transport, industrial action or similar.
4) If classes must be cancelled no refund will be provided, however we will run a live Zoom class instead.
5) The teachers will offer sessions for a minimum of 5 weeks per half term. Classes do not run during school holidays.
